Frustration...

Day 23: My little bit of happy - a grocery trip ALONE with the Super Hubbie!

For the past 3 weeks I have been scouring the internet, trying to learn more about second trimester loss and the things that cause them. Sadly, I've learned very little that I didn't already know. I only have one lead, and I'm not even sure how good of a lead it is. Why is there so little information out there?! And why is there so little support for late term losses?! Argh!!!

~ Caleb ~

Caleb Enoch died at 17 weeks gestation to an exceedingly rare second trimester cord accident.

He was born on January 8, 2010, 5:18pm at 17 weeks and 4 days.

Caleb weighed 4.9 ounces and was 8.6 inches long.

The cord was wrapped tightly around his neck twice, his belly once, and swelling of his left thigh tells us his leg was caught up in it as well.

Caleb's time of birth is a sweet sweet gift from the Lord - 5.18 is the date of our wedding anniversary. In military time this is 1718 - Caleb spent 17 weeks living, growing, and playing inside of me and we spent 18 precious hours loving on him after he was born.

Caleb is survived by his parents, 5 living siblings, his maternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Caleb is preceeded in death by 7 tiny siblings, his paternal grandparents, and an uncle who died at the same gestation.
