Thankful Thursday... two days late!

I reeeeally have things I should be doing. Especially since it's 10:30 at night, I have to leave the house at 7:30 in the morning to Northern VA to attend my nephew's baby dedication and THEN my entire family is coming back here. So, yeah... I should be cleaning. But I hate that I missed my Thankful Thursday this week so here it is... better late than never!

10) Tax returns
9) Searching for houses on the internet and easily weeding out the duds without wasting time.
8) NCIS. I've loved this show for a long time but now the hub finally likes it too. Yeah for me!
7) Sunshine.
6) A.C. working in my van. I might not have heat, but I do have A.C.
5) Real friends.
4) Dates with the Super Hubbie.
3) Being married to the Super Hubbie.
2) Being home raising my kids.
1) Winter is OVER!

Getting ready!!!

I will be homeschooling Emelia and Elijah again next year and I am so excited! I only wish I could bring the big boys home, but that is not going to happen at this time. Yesterday I enrolled them in CLASS which is program which tailor makes your child's curriculumn based on their individual needs. They also handle all grading and record keeping and maintain transcripts which will be useful should we ever decide to enroll them back in public school, as well as when they pursue college. Today at Walmart I found 2 12X18 colored grease boards which I am setting aside unopened for next school year.

In addition, we are getting ready for a possible move! We are pursueing purchaseing our own home in the next 6 months. We have found a possibility that has agreed to rent to use for the few months between our current lease ending. We should know by the end of next week if we for sure will be getting this house but it sure looks promising! It has many assets... one of which is that it is 0.7 of a mile from good friends of ours!

This is the house in question:

The picture of the front of the house does not do it justice, I assure you.

See that wet bar in the basement? Funny how one person sees wet bar and another see's the perfect homeschool spot!

So next week after talking to the finance people we are working with and getting assurance that if we do the things laid out to us we CAN get a loan for this house we will be meeting with the sellers and the realtor to actually see the inside and back yard of the house and find out if and how the rent to own situation needs to be worked out.

Please pray!!! In the mean time, we are continueing to search other properties!

A letter to my cats.

Dear Cats,

We did not invite you to live here because we especially wanted to be a cat family. We actually hired you on to do a JOB, paying you with room and board. You see, we brought you to live on a FARM. Mice come into our home and take up residence in our kitchen. This is a very disgusting problem. Your job is to CATCH said mice and chase them away. You have become very lax in this department. Infact, it seems you have stopped working all together. This does not make me happy. I don't see why I should have to continue providing you with food and cleaning up after you if you can't do this one simple INSTINCTUAL thing for me. You *must* catch the mice. If you don't, it will not go well for you! I hope we have an understanding.

Sincerely,
~ Me

Thankful Thursday...

Spring Break...

My blog has been silent these past days and weeks because I've been furiously feeding my addiction to Bejewled Blitz on Facebook. I've decided to refrain from playing the game any more as I have been starting to obsess about it. You know your enjoyment has gone too far when you lay down in bed at night, close your eyes, and see jewles lining up and popping away before your very closed eyes! LOL!!!

Another reason my blog has been quiet is because there's nothin' in my noggin. 'Nothin' worth talking about anyway. You see, I have a toddler. This means I don't really get much time to "think". I'm always in mom mode and when I'm not mode I'm in "please please please let me sleep!!!" mode. The times when I am able to think I'm either in church while Sarah is in the nursery or driving alone with Sarah and she's sleeping. She's taken to yelling a lot in the van... she must be heard!

When I *do* manage to think and come up with blog material, it children wring my brain out like a wet sponge before I get a chance to sit down and type it out, leaving me with writer's block yet again.

This week is spring break for my kiddos. The first year after Super Hubbie and I got married, Spring Break was coined "Family Fun Week". Unfortunately the last couple of years the weather has not cooperated. Hopefully later this week it will be warm and dry enough to be outdoors!
